The world is transitioning from an economy fueled by oil to an economy fueled by raw materials. This poses the twin challenge of the global need to re-industrialize and the need for the transition to be sustainable with high environmental standards and transparency.
On November 11th, SAFE’s Center for Critical Minerals Strategy and Transport & Environment hosted a lively discussion about how the United States and the European Union plan to make this energy leap while striving to work together to create an electrified future. Placed in a real-world policy context, discussed were issues ranging from responsible mining practices to the need for energy permitting reform.
