Washington, D.C.—Artificial intelligence is already defining America’s economy – reshaping how people and goods move, how products are made and consumed, how the U.S. competes globally, and how we defend ourselves. However, fragmented regulatory approaches and outdated energy infrastructure planning have slowed the adoption, deployment, and scaling of AI, particularly in the transportation and defense sectors
Responding to President Trump’s Artificial Intelligence Action Plan, Avery Ash, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, stated:
“President Trump’s AI Action Plan focuses on accelerating innovation, building AI infrastructure, and leading in AI engagement and diplomacy, providing an institutional framework to address current and future challenges and promote abundant and reliable power and infrastructure for AI technologies. We’re excited to see the President’s focus on cutting red tape, encouraging innovation through real-world AI testbeds, and laying the groundwork for an AI industrial strategy rooted in innovation, national security, and global competition.”
Specific provisions supported by SAFE include:
- A streamlined permitting process for necessary AI and energy infrastructure through expanding the use of FAST-41—to help meet increasing power demands, ensure access to next-gen technologies, and provide cheap and abundant energy.
- Supporting growth in energy infrastructure by incentivizing the optimization of current capabilities, enhancing the performance and efficiency of our transmission network, and promoting innovation and strategic planning.
- Formalization of interagency coordination and collaboration on AI adoption to help the U.S. maintain its global leadership in advanced technological capabilities, including autonomous drones, self-driving cars, semiconductors, and robotics.
These actions ensure that the U.S. remains ahead of our adversaries in shaping governance standards, infrastructure development, and national security capabilities.
