Founder and Executive Chairman

Robbie Diamond is the Founder and Executive Chairman of SAFE, where he provides long-term vision for the organization and serves as primary liaison to the Board of Directors and Energy Security Leadership Council. Diamond served as CEO of SAFE for 20 years following its founding in 2004. SAFE enhances energy security and supports U.S. competitiveness by ensuring the nation does not depend on adversaries for energy. critical materials, or advanced transportation technologies.

Diamond is also the Founder, President, and CEO of the Electrification Coalition, SAFE’s sister organization, which works with consumers, businesses, and policymakers, to launch award-winning “real-world” programs and enable the needed polices to accelerate transportation electrification.

Diamond helped found and was Chair of Rhombus Energy Solutions, a company that provides intelligent power conversion solutions including high powered bidirectional charging. It was sold in 2022 to BorgWarner. Diamond also helped found and serves on the Board of HCTSun, a rooftop solar company that focuses on commercial and industrial rooftop development and operations in Mumbai, India and its surroundings.

He is a serial for-profit and not-for-profit entrepreneur.

Diamond earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in Peace and Conflict Studies and Political Science, as well as a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School. He lives in Washington DC and has three daughters.
