Energy Communications Manager, ICF Next
Ray Long is a strategic communications professional working at the intersection of energy, resilience, and advanced technology. He serves Department of Energy clients as an Energy Communications Manager for ICF Next, the consulting agency within ICF. Previously, as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, he completed a three-year engagement as a communications specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-E) as well as engagements serving U.S. Department of Defense clients. Ray served for two years as the Associate Director for the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas – USA (ASPO-USA) a non-profit education and outreach organization dedicated to helping America understand and adapt to an oil-constrained world. Prior to ASPO-USA, he worked at D&R International supporting the ENERGY STAR program for four years. He holds two degrees in engineering, including a M.S. from Wayne State University in Alternative Energy Technology, the nation’s first alternative energy graduate program. He also earned his B.S. in Applied Engineering Sciences from Michigan State University.
