Mehrun Etebari is a Senior Analyst with IHS Markit’s LNG practice. He specializes in the markets of the Middle East, North Africa, and Mediterranean Europe. At IHS Markit, Mehrun authors analytical reports on gas developments and energy policy in the region, including interpretive papers, regular analyses of LNG importing markets in the region, liquefaction plant performance and outlooks in LNG exporting countries, and profiles of the gas business strategies of energy companies in Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia. He also contributes to the development and maintenance of IHS Markit’s LNG data products and Market Briefings.
Before joining IHS Markit, Mehrun was the Policy Lead for Geopolitics at Securing America’s Future Energy. Prior to that position, he was a Senior Research Assistant at the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution focusing on the politics and economics of Iran and the Persian Gulf states. Mehrun holds a BA in Economics from Brandeis University and an MA in International Relations from Yale University.
