James Blatchford is an analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence (BI), Bloomberg’s investment research group. James leads BI’s coverage of government policy in the Americas region affecting the energy industry, with a focus on oil, geopolitics, and transportation. He supports clients, reporters, and Bloomberg’s sales and marketing activities around the country and abroad. BI is available on the Bloomberg Professional Service at BI <GO>.
Prior to joining BI, James was the Director of Policy at Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE) where he was responsible for the organization’s policy department. He was a principal or supporting author of several reports covering topics including U.S. oil production, energy trade and security, vehicle fuel efficiency, and plug-in electric vehicles.
James earned a bachelor’s degree in management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago.
