Donald Davidson serves as the Manager of Government Relations at Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA), where he is responsible for helping advance policy priorities at both the federal and state levels. Having spent over 7 years as a Capitol Hill and government relations professional, he has developed an expertise in transportation, energy, tax, and national security policy.
Prior to joining VWGoA, Donald served in a number of capacities on Capitol Hill – including Deputy Chief of Staff & Legislative Director to Congressman Sam Johnson (R-TX), a senior member of Ways and Means. Donald directed the Congressman’s overall legislative strategy, served as his chief tax advisor during passage of the 2017 tax reform law, and maintained a broad policy portfolio that included transportation, defense, and foreign affairs. Earlier in his career, Donald served as the Senior Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wake Forest University. He resides in Washington D.C. with his wife.
